Aging Analysis Report

In this Excel file we have a list of customers, some with multiple orders and individual invoices for each order. The goal of this project is to make a dynamic aging schedule using our knowledge of functions and Pivot Tables.

First, we will need to calculate the number of days the invoice has been outstanding. To do this, create an IF function in Column F to calculate the number of days outstanding based on todays date and the Invoice Date. If the date is past todays date, put a zero. HINT: Days outstanding = number of days between the invoice date and todays date NOTE: todays date should be volatile

Next, add a Red Yellow Green color scale conditional formatting to the Days Outstanding.

Now we want to create an inexactVLOOKUP function in Column G that will reference the number of days outstanding, and pull the appropriate status message from Column L. But first, you should make the Range and Status Message range into a table named Age.

Using the data in Columns A G, create a Pivot Table that will appear on a new worksheet. Rename this new worksheet to be Status.

Set up your Pivot Table as follows:

Order No. grouped under Customer

Status in the columns

Amount as the number that fills out under Status

Turn off Grand Totals for rows

Turn on Grand Totals for columns

Show in Tabular Form.

All customer subtotals to have the Note cell style

Using your Pivot Table, create a Timeline filter for the Invoice Date that is filtered to show only August October. Using your Pivot Table, create a Slicer for Customer that has 4 columns and is resized appropriately.

Place the Timeline and Slicer to the right of your Pivot Table.
