(a) What is the velocity of the package and the cart, respectively, immediately after the package lands on the cart (before the package strikes the spring)?
(b) Determine the velocity of the cart at the instant the package fully compresses the spring.
[Hint: When the spring is fully compressed, the cart and package move together with zero relative velocity.]
(c) What is the maximum compression of the spring? The spring constant is 6000 N/m as shown in the figure.
