Although courts in the provinces may be described differently, the provinces generally maintain three levels of courts- Provincial Court (small claims in a civil context), Superior Court and a Court of Appeal - and the Supreme Court of Canada is the highest court in our country. Unsuccessful litigants may, in certain circumstances, appeal a decision of the court. Identify when an appeal is appropriate from a court of original jurisdiction, describe how (a) such a right is exercised and provide an example of an appealable matter.
