An appropriate email written for a professional context is provided. What could not be found, separate from the email itself, is the identification of three principles of cross-cultural communication that were applied to the writing of the email.
For instruction on identifying which principles of cross-cultural communication were used in writing the email, please revisit Section 1 titled "Writing an Appropriate Message" in the study plan for this course by clicking on the link next to this rubric aspect's name, B1. Dear Warden McMillian,
I hope this email finds you well. I wanted to follow up on our recent conversation regarding the proposal for internships for inmates currently serving in the Department of Corrections. I understand that you have asked me to provide additional information on how that we could safely implement this strategy and the potential results that you could expect if you were to allow this program to take place. However, to stay up to date with the competition in the market we need to implement a market strategy that will tell our people yes this is what we want to do.
Step one Market Resource. We will begin by conducting research to see for one who will currently hire our target staffing (felons) We will see what job skill set and security clearance will be needed to obtain employment. To get business on board to deal with the target staffing. We will need to create one heck of a marketing campaign to persuade them. This campaign will need to have features that no one else has to reach the core of our audience.
Step two Content Creation. Once we get a clear picture of what employers we are dealing with we will set up job fairs inside the prison promoting education, and the possibilities that education could lead to when it comes to employment. Setting ourselves up for a successful future outside of the prison bars. In addition to being persuasive we should also create an informative brochure that states the pros of hiring felons. This will provide employers with more information to help them make informative decisions.
Step 3 Social Media. We will hit Facebook, Instagram, and Tik Tok picking up virtual fans that will spread the word empowering this process. Allowing outside funds to go towards the greater cause. This will also hopefully reach our local State Representatives that would like to be part of the reform.
Step 4 Email Marketing. Create a email campaign to try to reach out to bigger Corporations like Amazon, Apple, Delta etc. Getting these companies on board to help the second chance opens huge opportunities.
Step 5 Influence Marketing. Identify people who are big on helping the second chance. Dr. Phil, Kim Kardashian, Reverend Al. Georgia State Representative. People who care about the recidivism rate and would like to keep it down.
The results that you can expect from this is finding companies that would like to belong to the Second Chance Community. They receive tax cuts, and the Parolees receive a chance to not only become educated but to be able to intern at a company that could take them places. Give them competitive salaries, and benefits. For someone coming out of prison this is a huge win.
I hope you will join me on my quests to make Second Chance the only Chance need.
