An important part of thinking critically is considering the implications of a conclusion. On page 29, the textbook focuses on this in the section "Impact of this Case on Today's Law." As indicated there, if the Court had ruled that Congress had exceeded its commerce clause power in passing the Civil Rights Act, states could have exercised their police powers to do so. Explain whether you think that states would have used their power to prohibit discrimination in public accommodations and employment.
