An owner brought the aircraft into our hanger for an annual inspection. In addition to the inspection, the owner requested the aircraft weight and balance be verified. It was discovered that the aircraft was out of CG range. The aircraft weighed 4954 pounds and the CG was calculated to +30.5 inches of arm. The manual shows the CG should be within a range of +32 to +42.1 Inches. Ballast will have to be added to station +162 (arm) but you now will have to calculate the correct weight of the ballast prior to adding it. (25 Points) Instructions: Use the Ballast Formula which is explained in pages 386 through 389 ("Shifting the CG") to calculate the weight of the ballast to be added. You may use a calculator.
