Analysis should include identifiers that you hear or do not hear in the selection you choose. Identifiers include:

1. Tempo (fast or slow?) 2. Dynamics (loud, soft or contrasting?) 3. Articulations (what way is the music presented?)

4. Instrumentation (what instruments are present?) 5. Voices (what kind of voices or voicing?)

6. Range (is the instruments playing in a low, mid or high range?) 7. Timbre (is it rough, raspy, smooth, cool, airy, etc.)

8. Texture (monophonic, polyphonic or homophonic) 9. key and meter (how many beats per measure?)

10. Style (Blues, Bebop, Rock, etc.?)

11. YOU (what does this remind you of, make you think of or feel... imagery or thoughts)
