Assignment

A local university needs to develop an app to provide real-time information to its 40,000 students. The app will provide required course information, access to lecture videos (live or recorded), and a virtual location for students to interact with their professors. Most requirements are very likely to change throughout the course of the project and can be delivered in increments. The university president has stated that this project is urgent and must be completed within ten weeks with a dedicated team of twenty individuals. Half of the team is very experienced, while the other half are newly hired. Because the university president is allocating a large number of employees to this project, she feels that they have everything they need to be successful on their own and do not need access to a customer representative. The president fully supports using an agile approach and has given the team full authority to make decisions. If the team does not get the app deployed in time, then it may impact future enrollments as students are looking for interactive, high-tech experiences.
