The Situation: Organizational change is something that occurs throughout an organization's life cycle and affects the entire organization rather than one part of it. Initiatives of the National Transformational Program are many. One of these initiatives is utilizing a new care delivery model. There is a great amount of literature on the negative aspects and difficult management with employees resisting change. In this context, and as a nurse manager in an in-patient unit, you were concerned about several problems that you believe are related. The satisfaction ratings that the unit has been receiving from patient questionnaires are mediocre, and patients have complained that no one is taking responsibility for coordinating and managing their plan of care. Staff members are complaining about workload, yet they are not using one another's skills and abilities to their best advantages.
