If something goes wrong, they may not make as many mistakes in speaking English. The national language is based on the indigenous culture and experience of so many Filipinos. On the English side, it is derived from the culture of distant lands inhabited by people with unique experiences, feelings, and thoughts. So English, even though we have adopted it as one of our languages, has changed form over the course of the long time we have used it.
