1. Guest safety is a primary concern of all effective hotel managers. What steps can you take to ensure that all of the hotels employees share your concern for guest safety? Identify at least three specific activities.

2. Some hotel managers believe that uniformed security personnel in the hotel increase the comfort level of guests in the same manner as would uniformed police officers. Other managers feel that uniformed security personnel increase guests concern about security and their own safety and thus have a negative effect. If it were your decision, would you put your security force in police-style uniforms or uniforms that blend with your clientele? What factors would influence your decision-making?
