1) A brief statement summarizing the purpose of what the data set (sample) looks at. 2) A statement regarding the size of the sample and whether missing data is a potential concern. 3) Using appropriate descriptive statistics - which is a function of the measurement scale of each variable (ie categorical (nominal and ordinal) versus continuous (interval and ratio). 4) Comment on whether or not it appears that categorical variables/data is representative or perhaps biased. 5) Comment on whether or not it appears that continuous variables/data is normally distributed.
