Assignment outline
Your plan can be written in any format that makes sense to you, but it must indude the following elements:
An introduction to the exhibit. Choose and elaborate on a central theme, argument, or message that you would like to communicate through your exhibit. How does it help contribute to our understanding of prehistory? How would you like your exhibit to make visitors think and feel?
A list of at least displays. You will need to make decisions about what material to include and how it will be shown to the public. Examples could include, artifact displays, art, dioramas, handson activities, videos, etc. You must explain your decisions for each display and how they support your central message.
A list of collaborators. Anthropology involves many people working together and the consideration of multiple stakeholders and interested parties. Make sure to explain why each person or group should be part of the project.
An ethics statement for the exhibit. Provide an overview of the potential ethical issues of the exhibit and how you will address them. Think about how the objects were sourced and where they came from. How will harm be prevented? Are there any issues inherent to the work that are contentious andor need to be treated with sensitivity
A floor plan of the exhibit. Draw a topdown map of the exhibit. You will need to explain your design in an accompanying paragraph. Some questions to consider: how does your layout channel people between displays? In what order are visitors likely to encounter the content? How does your layout enhance the overall experience and communicate your intended message?
