During the course, you will build a plan to implement the NIST Framework for XYZ Corporation. Each week you will review in detail 1 of the 5 functions of the NIST framework and work to build each section of your implementation plan by Week 5.

Background: XYZ Corporation is a large manufacturing company that is not in the government sector. They have a significant number of trade secrets and are subject to numerous regulations. They have many competitors that could benefit from having these trade secrets. Their current security program is a bit below average and needs to improve.

In Week 1, you are learning about the Identify function of the NIST Framework.

Build a 1-page table in Microsoft Word that addresses the Identify Function. Include 3 categories that will be a part of your implementation plan. Include at least 1 sub-category for each category.

Write a 2- to 4-page explanation of the Identify Function to include in your final Implementation Plan in Week 5. Complete the following in your explanation:

Describe the Identify Function.

Describe the categories youve chosen and how these will address security concerns and vulnerabilities in security.

Elaborate on the sub-category providing details of what you would implement.

Describe how you will evaluate which implementation tier the categories align to.

Provide a short summary of how the categories and subcategories align to the organizations security policies and risk appetite.

Include proper headings for each of the bullets to ensure the paper is easy for management to follow.
