Are You Distracted by Off$-$Task Technology in Class? Technology can be a wonderful resource in education, but when technology such as laptops or phones are used by students during class for reasons not related to class $($called off$-$task use$),$ its use can hurt learning and be distracting. In a study$1$ conducted at a Canadian university, students were asked if they were often distracted during class by the off$-$task use of technology.
