• Argumentative Writing: Topic and Thesis Statement

Enter the topic you wish to write about and write a 'tentative' thesis statement. Please review what a thesis statement is, BEFORE entering one. You can always change it later.

The topic should connect to one of the areas you have covered in this course. (Remember that copying a paper from a site, or not citing references properly, is plagiarism and could result in a zero for the paper.)

Remember that a Thesis Statement has a topic, an assertion (or argument) and can have some information about the topic.

• Argumentative Essay: First Draft

Submit your essay of a minimum of 400 words. Make sure that you have a good title, a hook, and a thesis statement in the first paragraph.

Make sure your first draft is as complete and accurate as possible. You will not be allowed to receive more than a 10 point difference between your first and second drafts. If you receive an 80 on the first draft, the highest grade you can achieve on the final draft will be a 90.
