Before this course, I wasn$$t familiar with the concept of action learning. However, reading this article and working on the module sets each week, I have recognized the value of this approach and how it can further academic and professional experiences. As the article states, action learning is a more fulfilling experience for the learner. The learner will be more successful by being hands$-$on and working on projects that cause them to ask questions, find answers, and learn. The article also mentions how action learning in an MBA environment is key for those who are coming from the working world back to education. This approach in education allows students to integrate their work experiences with their academics.

The article emphasizes that personal development and reflection are stressed in this type of program. The article provides an example case study of a graduate engineer in an MBA learning program. This engineer created a resource forecasting system for his company and was confident in its success. When he deployed it to his team, he received negative feedback, so during his action learning plan, he worked to figure out the next steps. This allowed him to think critically in a way he may have not prior and learn from questionnaires and conversations to see what the management team actually needed. This activity allowed him the opportunity to feel more comfortable giving and receiving feedback as well as interacting with peers. This article resonated with me because it made me realize how our class activities directly contribute to my professional and academic growth.
