As described in the text, evaluation poses various issues for the supervisor. It is simultaneously the most disconcerting, the most challenging, and the most important of responsibilities. There are, however, conceptual and structural aids to increase a supervisor's confidence and competence, and contribute to a productive evaluation process for both the supervisor and the supervisee.
