The objective of this project is to integrate lessons learned throughout the course and to force you to think through many of the issues involved in staffing, including issues related to job analysis, recruitment, and selection. It is strongly recommended that you complete the Staffing Guide based on the job you have been working on throughout the semester in individual assignments because you can use these assignments in your final Staffing Guide. Your final Staffing Guide will need to be a cohesive and well-organized report, and it must include the following sections: Title Page and Table of Contents: Include a title page and table of contents. Executive Summary: Provide an introduction for the reader and an overall summary of the contents of your Staffing Guide. Legal Compliance: Summarize for the reader the general provisions of major federal equal employment opportunity legislation/executive orders applicable to your employer. Include a discussion of the difference between disparate treatment and adverse impact and their implications. To do so, review our lesson on legal compliance, including the lecture and chapter reading. Exhibit 2.3 in your textbook will also be helpful. Analysis of Work and Job Description: Information for this section can be derived in part from your graded Job Analysis and Job Requirements Matrix Assignment (be sure to make changes to your job analysis based on my individual and collective feedback on the assignment). Summarize the general purpose of the job, what position the incumbent reports to, and what employees the incumbent supervises (if applicable). Summarize your overall recruitment strategy to solicit applicants who have the KSAOs needed to perform the job within this particular organization. In addition to summarizing the information below, also discuss topics such as whether there would be a preference for internal vs. external applicants. Describe the relevant labor market, and provide an example recruitment budget. Present the recruitment sources (internal and external) that can be used to solicit applicants. For each, describe your rationale for utilizing each source. Discuss who will be involved in recruiting applicants and why.
