As your resources have explained, arbitration is another method, or private process, that parties can use to settle a dispute. In addition to the disputing parties, the arbitration process involves a neutral third party, or arbitrator, who has the authority to make a decision regarding the dispute after receiving the evidence and hearing each partys arguments. Collective bargaining is a process in which employees work with their union for support in negotiating their employment contracts with their employer.
