Assessment Brief Group Project While in your position as Customer Service Manager of Snooze Lodge, the Hotel Manager has asked that you and your team develop a staff event for an End of Year Celebration. They have said you can either hold the event at the Hotel in the restaurant or off site as long as the cost does not exceed $1000, that includes hiring the venue, food, drinks and decorations. All the staff are invited from all departments. This Hotel employs 50 staff members. For this assessment you will work as a group with two (2) other students to complete the projects. You will take turns in being the team lead. When explaining how you completed your project- state who was the team leader and what each team member was allocated with doing. Project 1 Venue - you are to research which option is better- having the party in the Hotel restaurant or having it off site. As the Team leader you will delegate one person of the team to research off site options, and one to research the restaurant onsite. You need to decide what information they are to provide by giving them guidance. You will determine how fast they need to complete this task. You will then give them feedback on their performance and results of information. Project 2 Food and drink - for this task you will need to decide which food is to be served at the party. Will it be a sit down menu or a finger food type party? You will have your team research through surveys from staff and searching the venue (Outcome from Project 1). You will delegate the team members accordingly for each task. You will decide which information they need to provide and how. You will also decide on the timeline of the information to be researched. You will give feedback to the staff members on their performance. Note - you do not have to have completed surveys, just create a mock one.Project 3 Decorations - in this project your team will decide on how to decorate the venue. The level of decoration will be guided by the outcome from Project 1 and will tie in with what type of food was chosen for Project 2. You will delegate your team members by deciding which one will research which decorations. You will research at least four (4) different types of decorations- balloons, streamers, party hats, etc. You will then decide which two (2) decorations are going to be used and when these will be bought for the party. You will determine a reward for the person who can find the best decorations for the lowest cost. Conclusion After all the projects have been completed you will provide each other with constructive feedback on how you all worked as a team and how the team leader gave directions for their project. You will include at least two (2) of the following points: allocation or performance of work effectiveness of communication within team, between other teams or within organisation efficiency or deficiency in workplace practices.
