Assessment Task Four - Select, Procure and Store Construction Materials for Low-Rise Projects

Part A:

This assessment must be undertaken on a real or simulated construction site. You should discuss the selection of a suitable construction site with your assessor.

There are four parts to this assessment: Parts A, B, C and D.

Before you start, identify a material that is to be delivered to your real or simulated construction site. It may be a structural or non-structural building material.

In Part A, prepare for the assessment by developing a checklist which will guide you on-site when materials are delivered. The checklist must include:

• the potential effects of transportation on the building materials and the checks that will be required to ensure the materials delivered comply with the building contract, purchase order and manufacturer specifications

• steps to follow in the event of materials not meeting specifications including testing of concrete & timber
