Assignment: (1) Develop an E-R diagram for the library management system database project (20 pts) and (2) populate all tables with at least 5 records in each table using MySQL (10 pts).
Case Description: LIBRARY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM DATABASE PROJECT
A student or a teacher may rent a few books from the library. The number of renting days will be different between students and teachers for borrowing any book. Each book has a distinct ID. Also, when there are multiple copies of the same book, each book copy has a different ID number (like an automobile VIN - vehicle identification number). Renting a book should be recorded including the return date. When a borrower returns rents, s/he can return multiple books at the same time.
Show entity names, primary keys, attributes for each entity, relationships between the entities and cardinality.
For your information, you may want to write business rules describing entity relationships. For example,
A borrower may borrow zero or many rents.
A return may have one or more books.
Grading Criteria: Accuracy of the ER model (entities, attributes, relationships, and minimum/maximum cardinalities), successful population of tables.
