Assignment Details: In this assignment, you are going to first identify/mention possible internal and external sources of information to be collected and then create job specifications and job descriptions for a job that you would have as a college student - an entry level position within an organization. You may use a job that you are currently working or have had in recent past for this assignment! Your job specs and descriptions must contain the following sections (please see your textbook for layout format): - Job Identification Section: This section follows the job title. It includes items such as the department, location of the job, the person to whom the job holder reports to, and date when the job description was written or last reviewed. - Job Summary Statement: This is a short paragraph of two to three sentences summarizing the overall purpose/mission of the job. It provides the rationale for why the job exists and how it contributes to the organization. Essential Functions: Lists the essential duties and responsibilities of the position written in simple but complete manner. Your essential functions section must include: - A minimum of 10 task/duty/ responsibility (TDR) statements - Each TDR statement should start with a verb. Job Specifications: Describes the knowledge, skills, abilities (education and experience), and other attributes/characteristics (KSAOs) that are necessary to perform the job. It includes the physical demands of the job. Working Conditions: Includes physical conditions as well as environmental conditions that increase the risk of accident or health problems (e.g., temperature extremes, dust, fumes, and hazardous materials), also includes mental conditions that cause anxiety, stress, or other types of mental discomfort (e.g., isolation, continual disruption, repetition, and pressure of deadlines). Include the business travel required by the job, and indicate the extent of this travel.
