The primary audience is the company manager, Sarah Woodrow. 4. Use eective writing strategies, as well as Report Structure and Report Design principles, to turn these notes into a short report.

Hi. Its Hank Frost here. Yeah, Sarah Woodrow asked me to call you with the details of the Media Studies Department so that you could write up a report for her. Yep, it seems that it was the target of thieves last Friday. The 18th. It appears to have happened in the evening sometime and there was some losses. Looks like the video editing suites, both operating and guest radio booths and the equipment room have some damage. John Dunn, you know he manages that department, He called the police as soon as he noticed it. They came and investigated on Saturday. I called the insurance company myself to let them know that we had a break in. I put together a list of what John says looks like it was stolen. I figured that we would need it for the police and insurance company. Lets see, here goes. Two Apple computer monitors and printers. These were the most expensive items. Had a value of approximately $16,000 according to John. And lets see, there were two VHS machines worth about $600 each and a Sony 400 editor controller worth about $4,000. John says there was some cash too, but apparently he dont know how much was there. And there was this brand spanking new Radius colour monitor that was still in the box. Never even opened it yet that cost $6,000. I think that was all that was included in the take. Yeah, it looks like they came through the office window of Cathy Garr. Thats on the northeast side of the building on the first floor and then they went on a spree. Oh boy, looks like they used a mechanical tool, like a crowbar or something, to pry open the doors to get into the editing suites and radio rooms because they were all locked up. John says there was a lot of other stuff that was moved but not taken. Like in the editing suites that was disconnected and moved but they didnt take it. Seems they only took the newer stuff. John says he saw the place was broken in on Saturday morning when he arrived to do some work that morning. Because some equipment had been moved and not taken, it made John think that they knew which stuff they wanted and seemed to know where it was. He said the equipment that was stolen was new. Had been delivered in the previous two weeks. Ah, the police, they dusted for fingerprints when they came. Anyways, I think thats about it. Ill let you know if I have anything else that comes up.
