Assignment #1 Linkedin Report

Objective: To improve your Linkedin profile and grow your network.

Instructions:

• If you dont have a Linkedin profile- your first step is to create one. Instructions for this are in the worksheet "Linkedin Tips" provided on the hub.
• If you already have a Linkedin profile, assess what shape it is in. Explain in your report what you have already done on the platform and why. How is your headshot, background image and description? What information have you provided? How many connections do you have? What groups are you a part of? How active are you? Do you have any skill endorsements or recommendations?
• Next, using the "Linkedin Tips" worksheet provided on the hub make some improvements to your page and reach out to fellow students, instructors and your potential network. If you find other tips or suggestions for improving your profile online, feel free to use them!
• Report the changes that you have made and any immediate results that happen in terms of increasing your connections or getting a response. In week 13, you will give an update on your progress in a discussion post.
• The report should be submitted in 12 point font, be no longer than a page, include a link to your Linkedin profile and the following sections: before after and ongoing.

Before: Describe the initial state of your profile. If you didnt have a profile already set up, explain why you had not done so and why creating a profile would be a good idea.

After: Detail the changes you have made and to your profile and any immediate effects (new connections, etc).

Ongoing: What are your plans to continue to improve your profile and grow your network throughout the course and beyond? How often will you share content? What original posts could you share? How big do you want your network to be? Set some specific goals, and explain what you are hoping to achieve (Future job opportunities? A place to connect with your industry? Position yourself as an enthusiastic learner or future expert?)
