As a follow up to the previous assignment, imagine that you now want to make your proposal into a template. The template can be used by your employees to quickly make standardized proposals in the future.
- Create a Word template document that follows the outline shown below. Include standardized text and user content controlled fields as needed. Use a different colour/style font for the user input content.
Name the proposal template document as follows:
- Use the template to generate a quick proposal. The words input into the user content controlled fields doesnt matter (use any standard filler text or copy/paste from internet example).

Instructions for Word Template
The template must include the following components, used appropriately. Except for the content controlled fields, none of the other text of formatting in the document should be editable by the user
- Cover page attractive cover page with name of company or logo and title of document that has no header or footer.
- Contents page with generated table of contents and list of illustrations.
- Header and footer containing the following:
- company name or logo
- document name)
- date (automatically updating)
- page number - of x pages on last page.
- Multiple content controlled text fields (text fields, drop down lists, and pickers) wherever user input is required.
- Numbered and bulleted list - At least one of each, properly formatted.
- Two or more tables with captions formatted as styles for automatic updating and to automatically insert a Table of Figures
- Two or more figures chart, graph, or WordArt, with captions formatted as styles for automatic updating and to automatically insert a Table of Figures.
Proposal Outline (Same outline as Assignment #1)
- Cover Page
Provide a cover page that includes the name of the proposal, the authors names, the recipients names (and titles), the date. Do not number the page.
- Contents Page
Provide a Table of Contents with a nested list of 2-3 levels of headings. Include a separate Table of Figures and/or Charts. Number the Contents section using lower case Roman numerals.
- Main Report
- Introduction & Background connect with the reader, provide background to the problem, state your solution for the customer and the benefits of the solution.
- Main body present the details of your proposal
- Include credentials describe the credentials of the employees who will perform the work, describe the capabilities of your company equipment, history, etc.
- Include the plan what will be done include breakdown of major tasks
- Include milestones when major tasks will be accomplished
- Include cost and availability of equipment and resources
- Conclusion re-state main points, explain why you are best suited for the task, and recommend your services
