Think of a time when someone-a co-worker, supervisor, classmate, instructor, friend, or family memberdecoded your message incorrectly and misinterpreted your meaning. Using the eight phases of the communication process, analyze the miscommunication.
A) What idea were you trying share? How did you encode and transmit it? How did you know the message was not received and/or decoded as it was intended? Was a barrier involved? lf yes, what kind of barrier?
B) Knowing what you know now about the communication process, what could you have done differently? What did that experience teach you about your areas of weakness in communicating? Areas of strengths? What learning objectives or topics covered in this course do you think will enhance those strengths; which ones will help you grow your skills so the risk of another miscommunication will be reduced?
