Purpose Throughout this course, you have examined the essential HR functions of strategy, job analysis, planning, legal requirements, recruitment, selection, training and development, performance management, compensation, employee benefits, employee relations, health and safety, and union/management relations.
You have also explored the use of strategic tools, such as a Human Resources Information System in meeting organizational objectives, examined current HR trends and their implications for staff and business, identified leading strategies for the development and implementation of HR policy and practice, and applied innovative practices to resolve complex HR issues.
The purpose of this final assignment is to allow you the opportunity to select and examine material from the entire course.
How to Proceed Identify and discuss 2 HR functions in an organization with which you are familiar. Your paper should be between 800-1000 words.
Briefly outline the organization you are analysing, including the number of employees and whether it is unionized or non-unionized. Please refer to the organization as company "XYZ," if wishing to maintain confidentiality.
The majority of the paper should analyse: Analyse what is done well with respect to each functional area;
Analyse what is not done well; and
Provide recommendations that would enhance, improve, and/or change the situation in each functional area
Your paper should use many of the concepts discussed in the textbook relative to each particular functional area.

Grading You will be assessed in accordance with the following grading rubric. Please review the requirements necessary for achieving a mastery rating of the outcomes associated with this assignment.
You will be awarded a maximum of 8 points per each function you analyze plus 2 points for writing, or out of a total of 18 points (2 functions X 8 points + 2 points for writing = 18 points).
