After reading chapter 2 in your HR text (Mathis & Jackson), and skimming over pp. 964-971, 980-984 in the Leslie, Mayer & Kravitz (2014) article, please address the following:

In chapter two, specifically pages 30-31 and 47-48, there are two debated issues outlined by the author, diversity training and affirmative action.

1. Select one side of the diversity training issue (either pro or con) and debate the merits of your position.

2. Select now the opposite side of affirmative action (pro or con) and try your best to present evidence to support that position. In other words if you were "pro in question number 1 I want you to be "con in question number 2 or vice versa.

You don't have to necessarily personally believe the point you are trying to argue; rather this is an exercise in trying to view the other side of an argument potentially void of the emotional baggage associated with these issues. (Note: This is a judgment free zone, think of yourself as criminal defense attorney in that respect.)
