Question: Assignment Brief and Guidance: Beam 3 will be designed to carry loads as following: uniformly distributed dead load of 2 k N m including beam

Assignment Brief and Guidance: Beam 3 will be designed to carry loads as following:
uniformly distributed dead load of 2kNm including beam weight over the length
of the beam.
uniformly distributed live load of 1 KN over the length of the beam.
take the effect of rain load and wind load on this beam to be uniformly distributed loads
of 2kNm over the length of the beam.
Safety factors for live loads, dead loads, and imposed loads must be taken into
consideration when analyzing the above beams. These safety factors will be
determined according to "ASCE-98 code" and "EN 1993 Eurocodes3 "and
"ANSVAISC 360-16 Specification for Structural Steel Buildings" regulations.
For the analysis reason your manger gives you the following column(1,2,3)
section to be reinforced section or steel section , for Reinforced section using
the ratio of reinforced to be 1% and the steel section to W10X22 the length of the
column is 3.25 m , figure (4) shows the section in columns.
Fig. (4) : Section in columns
Your manager gives you a suggest about a column supporting system as
showing in figure (5) for the column 1,2,3.
Fig. (5) : Supporting for columns
Used the following data in your calculation and studies for the project :
Concrete Compressive Strength (Fc) is MPA
1- Yield strength for reinforced steel is 414 MPA 2- Yield strength for Steel is 50 Ksi
3- The project area has a high humidity value
4- According to the geotechnical engineer the soil of the project has a high
value of sulfate
Task 1
your manager wants to use a modern way in construction for the villa. The manager
asked you to perform the following tasks in order to determine the forces and moments
in the given beams to be designed later.
From the load combination equations that includes the safety factors for the dead
loads, live loads, and imposed loads that you will determine from the given
codes and regulations given in the scenario produce appropriate factors of
safety for the loads given in the scenario for each beam used the code that
mention in the scenario , determine the value of ultimate load using appropriate
safety factor combination to continue the analysis for the beams mention before.
discuss the safety requirements for choosing these factors in your structural
designs for each beam , your discussion must include the following
1- the importance of the safety requirements which include the design of fire
conditions and corrosion effects to ensure safe design.
2- the differences and relationships between the requirements for each code
and regulation.
calculate shear forces and bending moments for beams 1,2, and 3 and produce
shear force and bending moment diagrams for each beam.
after you done with your calculation for bending moments and shear , using
ASCE-98 code and EN 1993 Eurocodes 3 and ANSI/AISC 360-16 Specification
for Structural Steel Buildings, your manager asked you to Evaluate the safety
and economics reason of using maximum bending moment method to determine
the steel beam section dimensions in the design process by showing:
-The advantages and disadvantages for using this method.
-The significance of selecting the section according to this method.
Arab Construction Company (ACC) is a renowned construction company in Amman-
Jordan. It is specialized in broad types of construction and complex buildings. It has
attained recently a new project. The project is a modern villa which includes steel and
concrete members as shown in the sketch below (Figure 1)

This project is given to your company from another company in order to help them in the
analysis and design of steel and concrete beams and columns in this villa as shown
