There are $19$ projects listed in the EWB Challenge Brief $[1],$ and as a group you must choose one of

them to complete. You have received this list of topics before your Week $3$ practical class to help

your group to shortlist topics. Your group needs to decide on a topic by the Week $4$ practical class.

$2\mathrm{.}2$ Tasks

Now that you have a topic, it is time for the fun $($and work$)$ to start. Throughout the remainder of the

semester, you will be developing solutions for the project that your group has chosen by following

the Engineering Method. Your projects will include the following, with timeframes of when your

groups should be working on these indicated in the parentheses:

$1.$ Exploring the context of the EWB Challenge project you have chosen. You were given a very

high$-$level overview of the context by Sai Rupa Dev in the workshop in Week $3,$ and there is

more information about your topic in the $2024$ EWB Challenge Brief $($on LMS$).$ As a group you

need to focus on the context of your specific topic. $($Weeks $3-4)$

$2.$ Defining the problem and developing design criteria. These design criteria should also consider

the design considerations as listed in the $2024$ EWB Design Challenge Brief. Additionally, you

will need to consider risk, safety, sustainability, and ethics in these criteria. $($Weeks $4-8)$

$3.$ Completing a stakeholder analysis and consider how stakeholder needs are reflected in your

design requirements, and, if required, review your design criteria $($Week $6)$

$4.$ Generating, identifying, and designing possible solutions $($the really fun part!$)$ using research,

in Week $8)$
