Below are the instructions for your annotated bibliography.
For part one, you must complete six required annotations.
This way, I can review your work to make sure you are on track. Part one should be correctly formatted and must follow all the instructions below.
Source Requirements for the FINAL DRAFT:
- Six total sources (no more) - ONLY academic sources. No blogs or .coms - including no academic blogs.
- Other than course materials, no sources should be more than 10 years old. This is not because the information is not valid, but because you should be looking for recent developments.
- Essays that cite poor-quality sources will not be eligible for grading. You are responsible for the quality of your research.
- When in doubt, ask me before committing to a source.
Annotations are notes written in paragraph form, used to provide information or explanations.
- Each annotation should be between 200 and 300 words.
- Do not include quotations or paraphrasing.
- Put the notes in your own words and write in a formal, academic style.(That means no first or second-person point of view and no contractions.)
- Summarize:Some annotations merely summarize the source. What are the main arguments? What is the point of this book or article? What topics are covered? If someone asked what this article/book is about, what would you say? The length of your annotations will determine how detailed your summary is.
- Assess:After summarizing a source, it is helpful to evaluate it. Is it a useful source? How does it compare with other sources in your bibliography? Is the information reliable? Is this source biased or objective? What is the goal of this source?
- Reflect:Once you've summarized and assessed a source, you need to ask how it fits into your research. Was this source helpful to you? How does it help you shape your argument? How can you use this source in your research project? Has it changed how you think about your topic?
Follow APA7 format - which includes putting sources in alphabetical order by author's last name.Watch the video tutorials showing how to format a Word document in APA.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MANUALLY FORMAT YOUR HANGING INDENT.
