Assignment Design a micro hydro power generating station for a home located near a river as shown 1n the topographic map. The goal 15 to produce the largest power output from the turbine. This assignment can be complete alone or with one other student. Even if you are working alone, you must join a group on Blackboard in order to submut the assignment. Instructions for design 1. Use the Civil Title page (or create your own) and include the name(s) and student number(s) of the author(s). 2. Determine the layout of your system (place your intake in the river upstream of the house, then run a penstock pipe to the generator (position the generator at, or near, the house), and run a channel from the generator back to the river); draw it on the topographical map. 3. Transfer the plan view design to the schematic and include all distances and heights. . Design the shape of your pipe entrance from the forebay including the K value. 5. Pick a turbine/generator that 1s designed for small scale hydro electric applications and that works for the elevation differences that you've designed
