ASSIGNMENT GUIDELINES (Section1 and Section2): ASSIGNMENT SECTION 1: Assignment Topic: Identify an existing process in a manufacturing or service industry and improve it using the DMAIC improvement method. This can be done through studying a process on the internet. Refer to Chapter 3-Six Sigma from the prescribed text book as it gives a detailed methodology. Instructions: 1) Define the project/goal 2) Identify how to measure the performance 3) Determine additional measurements, collected data and how it was analyzed 4) Improve the process 5) Control the process to ensure continued and sustainable success Discussion of Results should at least include: - Cause-and-effect diagram - Pareto chart - Check sheet - Control chart - Flow chart - Histogram - Scatter diagram or any other tool found from the prescribed text book
