Assignment Instructions for Week 6 Lab A Working Towards the Final Project The final project is a group project. It will encompass the two labs from Week 6 and the Final Project/Presentation in Week 7.

1. The first two parts are submitted as Lab A and Lab B in Week 6.
2. Those parts are combined into the Final Project and submitted with the Final Projects Paper in Week 7.

Directions for This Week 1. Organize a group of 2-3 students. A discussion topic exists to help communicate. (If you need help finding a group, ask the instructor.)

2. Choose a problem where your group can apply their collective knowledge to a problem solved by Information Technology, Information Systems or Software Engineering that your team would develop. The system must contain at a minimum: a) Working machine b) OS c) Web Server d) Database e) A working Web Application related to solution. 4. Develop a Business Case for your group's project.(Refer to Chapter 3 for an example business case.) 5. Develop a Project Charterfor your group's project. (Refer to Chapter 4 for minimum requirements.) 6. Have your kickoff meeting with an agenda to list the details of Project Planning for Lab B. (Refer to Chapter 3.) Be sure to explain the process you used to develop each item. Final Product

Prepare your group's answers as one Word document. Each member should submit a copy into thedesignated folder. Directions for This Week Continuation from Lab A with a business case, project charter and kick-off meeting. Step 1: Develop a Project Plan

1. Develop the Scope of Work with WBS. (Refer to Chapter 5.)
2. Develop the Project Schedule with Gantt Chart and milestones. (Refer to Chapter 6.)
3. Develop the Dependency (Network) Diagram and Critical Path. (Refer to Chapter 6.)
4. Develop the Pert Analysis. (Refer to Chapter 6.)

Be sure to explain the process you used to develop each item in the project plan. Final Product Step 2: Submit the Project Planwith the items list appended to the results from Lab A. We will continue the project plan in Week 7's Final Project. Prepare your group's answers as one Word document. Each member should submit a copy into thedesignated folder. W6: Discussion Question 1 - Risk Management Software Must post first. Due Day 3 Risks are everywhere and no project is risk free. The purpose of this discussion is to look at project risk management software or project risk management guides available on the internet and then share the information with the group.

• Post a brief summary of the software or the guide.

• What project risk management does the software or the guide NOT address?
• Where do you think the software or the guide would be helpful?
