This assignment is a Group Assignment. Your group is a firm of HR Consultants (select your own consulting firm's name) providing advice to James Rutherford, a Hiring Manager from the Frankfort Manufacturing Company. Mr. Rutherford needs advice on three separate issues outlined below. Please consider the three scenarios/situations and write a report for the company addressing each of the situations/scenarios. Remember you are acting as a Consulting Firm and your firm wants to provide clear and accurate advice.. Use a professional report writing format. Be sure headings and important points are clearly defined. Follow all grammatical rules to ensure this report adheres to professional business standards.
Research:
In order to provide the best advice your consulting firm can, your group will need to do the necessary research. Be sure to include a Works Cited page using APA.
Frankfort Manufacturing Company will want to know the reasoning behind your advice. Be sure to provide the company and their Human Resource Manager with supporting evidence for your advice.

Situation A
James Rutherford, the Hiring Manager at Frankfort Manufacturing Company has complied a list of questions that he would like to use in an interview to select an office manager. Your Consulting Firm's first task is to review the questions Mr. Rutherford has given you and identify which questions are appropriate and/or inappropriate based on employment legislation.
Questions:
Tell me about a time you were faced with a difficult customer or staff member. How did you handle the situation?
Are you planning to take any other classes or completing any other certification or designation?
Are you legally entitled to work in Canada?
To what clubs or social organizations do you belong?
Are there any religious holidays that you celebrate that are not already statutory holidays that we can accommodate?
Are you able to work evenings and weekends for this job?
With this position, would you require any accommodations?
Why did you leave your last position?
What year did you graduate high school?
What foreign languages can you read, write or speak fluently?
Provide you opinion and the rationale for your advice. Be clear as to what you are advising and why.
Situation B:
Mr. Rutherford has an employee, Ms. X, who has been a very good employee with excellent evaluations for over 10 years. She works in one of outlying plants and is responsible for using appropriate machinery to move materials necessary for production. However, over the past two years, the company has decided that it need to increase it's productivity and the machines Ms. X has used in the past are being phased out for efficiency purposes. The company is now requiring employees in Ms. X's type of position to change the way they work and now be able to lift loads of material more quickly. Ms. X has not been able to meet this requirement, even though she has tried. Management has asked Mr. Rutherford his opinion as to how the company could fire Ms. X since they feel she is not meeting her quota.
