Assignment:

Over the next 4 weeks or so, your group will identify one of the fast food companies you researched for GROUP PROJECT #1 and perform an in-depth analysis and written report. Your group will work as a team to address the different phases of the project. Because you are a remotely located group, remember that you are not required to meet in person, but you will need to stay in close contact. I would highly encourage you to use your canvas group page as your central communication spot to meet, organize, and gather your research together.

Upcoming Activity #4 will give you the opportunity to practice meeting together in a ZOOM format so that you can get to know your teammates better. Remember that the main purpose of these group projects are to provide team building, hands on experiences which allow you to apply course concepts such as how to understand different personalities, assess needs, how to form, norm and perform within groups, conflict management, create cohesion, etc. See this as an opportunity to be a manger as scientist. Each of you will get to test management/team work theories and see how they play out in our classroom laboratory. Be patient, diligent, and have fun with the process.

Format:

This is an in-depth investigation of your chosen fast food company its product offerings, sales & marketing strategies, online website & digital technology, strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats, market interruptions, and your analysis with strategies and recommendations. You will need to document all your references with citations. The citations should give credit to the sources of material, which might range from interviews, personal observation, to written materials (such as annual reports, web sites, sales literature, news articles, magazines or other periodicals). Your paper should be 4-6 pages not including your Works Cited pages and Appendices. Your Works Cited page should indicate all sources of information that were reviewed or cited in preparing the paper.

Please be thoughtful as you organize, analyze, and interpret information and concepts, and that you demonstrate that you are thinking critically and creatively about them. Papers must be typed and double-spaced. Please submit your paper through canvas. All written work should utilize high quality English and be free of spelling and grammatical errors. Grades on papers that have many grammar and/or spelling errors will be reduced by 10%, as will papers handed in late.
