Question: Assignment Purpose This assignment aims to apply data analysis and interpretation knowledge by comparing several independent means and their resulting post hoc analysis in SPSS.

Assignment Purpose

This assignment aims to apply data analysis and interpretation knowledge by comparing several independent means and their resulting post hoc analysis in SPSS. ANOVA is a test that can do . This includes proper result reporting in the form of a paper with output from SPSS and appropriate tables included.

Course Outcomes

This assignment provides documentation of student ability to meet the following course outcomes:

  • CO2: Apply advanced quantitative biostatistical procedures and qualitative biostatistical procedures to relevant public health data sets to identify associations between causative factors and outcomes.
  • CO4: Analyze the results from statistical computing packages reporting results accurately and within context to the given public health data sets.

  1. The Comparing Means assignment will be graded on accurately comparing means using a specified data source. In addition to this, students are expected to analyze the results of the data, correctly report this information, and speak of the significance of their findings in terms of public health. The quality of self-assessment, use of citations, use of Standard English grammar, sentence structure, and overall organization based on the required components as summarized in the directions and grading criteria/rubric will be evaluated.
  2. Create your product using Microsoft Word, which is the required format for this assignment. Place output from SPSS into this word document as an appendix.
  3. Follow the directions and grading criteria closely. Any questions about this paper may be posted in the Q&A Forum.
  4. The length of this assignment is to be no less than 3 and no greater than 6 pages, excluding title and reference pages.
    • Note: Introduction - Write an introduction but do not use "Introduction" as a heading in accordance with the rules put forth in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association.

Preparing the Assignment

Comparing means allows us to look at independent groups and compare their means. This could be the means of different treatment groups or different populations.

You will compare means between independent groups and run appropriate post hoc analysis for this assignment using the data set provided to you.

Module 3 Data set(Links to an external site.)

  • You will compare means of three different groups with ANOVA.
  • Complete a post hoc analysis and report on this as well.
  • You will include a narrative that includes possible hypotheses and null hypotheses, an explanation of the relationship between the variables, and report the important results .

Discussion methods used and why this test is the appropriate test for the variables, or the variables are discussed, but no both and there is no further information provided.

0 pts

Does Not Meet Criteria

No narrative is present.

7 pts

This criterion is linked to learning outcome results You will report the results you get, possible hypotheses, and if you have a statistically significant result. State whether you accepted or rejected your hypotheses. Your book is a good resource for how to report findings

7 pts

Meets All Criteria

Results for the comparing means test are discussed in addition to possible hypotheses, their rejection or acceptance, and statistically significant results.

6 pts

3 pts

Meets All Criteria

Excellent use of standard English showing original thought. No spelling or grammatical errors. Well organized with proper flow of meaning.

2 pts

Meets Most Criteria

Some evidence of own expression and competent use of language. No more than three spelling or grammatical errors. Generally organized thoughts and concepts.

1 pts
