The problem to be addressed in this study is the underexplored utilization of blockchain technology in supply chain management $.$ While the potential benefits of blockchain in enhancing transparency, security, and efficiency in supply chain operations are widely acknowledged, there exists a significant research gap in understanding the specific challenges and opportunities associated with its implementation across industries and geographies.

Scholars such as Tapscott and Tapscott $(2016)$ highlight the transformative potential of blockchain in revolutionizing supply chain processes by enabling real$-$time tracking, provenance verification, and smart contracts. However, despite these advancements, empirical studies elucidating the practical implications, adoption barriers, and performance outcomes of blockchain technology in supply chains are limited $($Sarkar et al$.,2020).$

This research problem is of utmost importance as the efficient functioning of global supply chains impacts not only businesses but also consumers, regulators, and other stakeholders. Failure to address the research gap may lead to missed opportunities for cost reduction, fraud prevention, and sustainability improvements within supply chains, ultimately hindering overall industry competitiveness and resilience $($McCormack et al$.,2018).$

To advance scholarly understanding and practical applications of blockchain technology in supply chain management, it is crucial to investigate the current state of adoption, identify key challenges, and propose actionable strategies for successful integration. This research aims to fill the knowledge void regarding the effective implementation of blockchain in supply chains, thereby contributing to the advancement of logistics operations, risk management practices, and overall organizational performance.
