ASSIGNMENT: The External and Internal Environment Impact on Management

Purpose: This assignment seeks to examine the impact of environmental change and organizational structure on management practices. This project aims to build on your research and writing skills and raise your understanding of key external and internal factors that impact management.

Your manager overheard you telling a colleague that you are taking a graduate-level organizational theory class at UMGC. They remember their college course on organizational theory and realize that they found the learning material extremely useful over the years. Experience has taught them that organizations need to adapt to influences in the environment, including customer wants and needs. To that end, they would like you to conduct brief research and identify current 1. external economic factors that impact organizations, and 2. internal structure related factors that impact management in the organizations.

Use the research findings included in your Annotated Bibliography to support an analysis of your organization structure and the external environment impact on management.
