Assignment to Complete and Submit

A) Read Chapters 1-4 of the book Basics of Web Design, 5th Edition

Important: For all chapters beginning with Chapter 2, complete the practice exercises including those for Trillium Media Services. You will not be submitting these assignments, but they will provide the instruction and practice you need for the graded cases for each chapter.

B) Complete the following, ensuring you create separate file folders for each chapter. Please read the notes carefully and ask questions. Plan your work in advance. Do not fall behind. Note: It is important that you keep the file names the same as requested in the text (i.e. index.html). Ensure all file names are all lowercase, with no spaces, or special characters. Do not add your name to the file name. This will become more apparent as you work through the chapters.

1) Complete the Case Study for "Path of Light Yoga Studio" in Chapter 2 (5th edition: pp.67-70).

2) Complete the Case Study for "Path of Light Yoga Studio" in Chapter 4 (5th edition: pp. 140-142 ).

NOTE for Item 2: It is highly recommended that you make a copy of chapter 2, set it aside, and use a separate copy on Chapter 4. you will be using Chapter 4s assignment throughout, so make it the BEST you can!

3) Include Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) and Cascading Stylesheets (CSS) initial comments for each page (see examples below)

4) Add comments to describe each section of your html/css documents (main elements in HTML and main selectors in CSS). The reason for this is two-fold; as you make changes, you'll want to remember what you "were planning to do" and as you share editing (in your future projects in the "real world") you'll want others to know what you were trying to do.

C) SUBMIT: Zip all files/folders into one file and send it through the assignment dropbox. If the files are not zipped, the assignment will not be graded.
