Assignment
Problem
For each of the frames in Figure solve for the reactions and draw the axdal, shear, and moment diagrams. Your final answers and presentation of them is the only thing that will be graded, so you need only show the work you needed to arrive at the answer. For each frame, your final presentation must include the following:
A free body diagram FBD for the full frame showing all applied loads and reactions. Arrows showing reactions must indicate the direction the reaction acts.
Separate FBDs for each member that shows all applied loads and the member end forces
Separate axial, shear, and moment diagrams must be provided for each member that is an exploded view as shown in class with the diagrams oriented in the direction of the member
Axial load diagram must label the forces as tension T or compression C
Shear diagrams must label the following values:
Shear at ends of the frame members
Shear on both sides of a jump in the shear diagram
Maximaminima shears
Location of zero shear force you need this to determine the maximaminima moments!
Moment diagrams must be drawn on the compression side of the frame member, with labels for the following values:
Moment at ends of the beam
Moment on both sides of a jump in the moment diagram
Maximaminima moments
