Two persons calculated the average molecular weight of the flue gas sample containing carbon dioxide, nitrogen and oxygen. The first person used the appropriate molecular weights of each gas to calculate the average molecular weight of the flue gas and found it to be 30.24 g/mol. The second person used the atomic weight of oxygen mistakenly, in place of molecular weight of oxygen to calculate the average molecular weight of the flue gas and found it to be 28.96 g/mol.
