At this point, you should have a basic idea of what topic you want to tackle and how you are going to approach it. The research proposal should sum up what you have discovered so far in a coherent, one page document. It should be written in paragraph format, rather than as a list of questions and answers.

In the first paragraph, address why this topic is worth researching and who it could potentially impact.

In the second paragraph, explain what area of the subject you are going to explore and then give your main research question. Underneath that, list any subsequent questions that may need to be answered in order to answer your main research question.

In the final paragraph, give your working thesis. Remember, this thesis is just tentative and may change as you conduct your research. That's okay. Also, include what kind of information you plan to look for.
