Attendance Policy One major difference between my previous school, Western Iowa Tech (WITCC), and my current school, Iowa Central, is how attendance is handled in online courses. At WITCC, the focus was solely on deadlines. We were expected to complete weekly assignments by 11:59 PM CST, and as long as our work was submitted on time, there were no requirements to log in or participate on multiple days. In contrast, Iowa Central has an attendance-like policy for online courses. Students are expected to post or participate on four separate days each week, which ensures we are actively engaging with the course material throughout the week rather than leaving everything until the last minute. While the WITCC method allowed for more flexibility in scheduling, Iowa Central's approach encourages consistent engagement, which I find helps me stay on track with the course content. Methods of Teaching Another noticeable difference is the level of instructor involvement. At Iowa Central, instructors are actively engagedthey provide feedback on assignments, participate in discussions, and often create short lectures summarizing each lesson.
