Auditing careers involve much more than just counting things or reviewing financial statements. The auditing process is broad in nature and involves obtaining and evaluating evidence consisting of all the influences that ultimately guide an auditors decision. Some of you may have experienced an Internal Audit function testing controls under your responsibility at work or an audit of your personal income tax statement. For your initial posting, describe a task, responsibility, or job that a professional auditor would complete. The video links for this week Focus on the Profession will give you some additional suggestions. For your peer responses, identify stakeholders who would be impacted by this task, responsibility, or job an auditor completes and discuss the impact to the stakeholder if the auditor does not do their due diligence and provide the correct information. Duplication of tasks, responsibilities, or jobs an auditor completes will result in reduced marks. Please post early to avoid duplication concerns.
