with the lab results obtained from UU triaxial tests in figures $2$ and

$3,$ evaluate the bearing capacity of a single CFA pile according to

Eurocode $7-$ Design Approach $1$ Combination $2.$

This must be demonstrated using hand$-$written calculations

and hand$-$drawn sketches $($typed or other processed

responses will attract zero marks$).$

Assume the following:

the foundation comprises rows of $18$ CFA piles;

the permanent load for a single CFA pile to be $400kN$;

the variable load for a single CFA pile to be $100kN$;

the permanent load includes the CFA pile weight;

the CFA piles are cylindrical in shape with a diameter of $0\mathrm{.}7$

$m$ and a height of $18m$;

the soil is a uniform overconsolidated clay with an adhesion
