B2. Elements of Interoperability of Data Interoperability is the ability for data to be exchanged within and across different organizations in a seamless and timely manner. Interoperability of data required that shared data be structured and uniformed so that receiving computers are able to interpret the data. Interoperability's syntactic level required data to be formatted and structured to allow seamless exchange of data, and the Semantic level requires the use of standardized terminologies to ensure that HIE's are clear and consistent, as well as having suitable meaning. Based on these standards, the \"Sample Data Dictionary\" does not meet the elements of Interoperability of Data. For example, the length of field holds to many variables to allow for a seamless exchange of information, likewise, the data type field is unstrucnlred, which also hinders computer from interpreting the date.
