Background:

A key objective for this course is for you to start your journey to understand yourself as a leader by reflecting on your strengths and opportunities for growth. This self-awareness is an important aspect to being a great leader and by understanding yourself you can work on a plan to market yourself to others. A commonly used tool in building strategies for organizations is the SWOT analysis, i.e., understanding Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats. This tool is equally valuable when you perform this analysis on yourself.

Objectives:

Self-awareness and self-reflection is a critical skill for leaders and will be assessed in this paper. The objective of this case study is to capture a SWOT analysis of yourself and start to think on an action plan that will further develop your strengths, develop your weaknesses, take advantage of your opportunities and minimize threats.

Assignment:

Prepare a paper describing your SWOT analysis on yourself. By drawing on what you have learned from the course about leadership and the self-reflection you have done. This assignment will ask the question who am I? by answering the following questions:

1. What are my strengths? based on my experience what are my skills, leadership style and behaviors that have a positive impact. In other words, what do I need to keep doing?
2. What are my weaknesses? what are my blind spots, under-developed traits or strengths that are overused and have a negative impact? This should also include what do I need to stop doing?
3. What opportunities exist to use my strengths, develop or grow my weaknesses and to gain experience? In other words, what do I need to start doing?
4. What are the threats that I need to overcome? In other words what do I need to be aware of that could have a negative effect?

Include some suggested actions you want to take after the program is finished.

The paper needs to be 6-7 pages. Marks will be given based on your self-awareness of these points and will be assigned to answering all questions. 15 marks each for questions 1 and 2, and 10 marks each for question 3 and 4. Highest marks will be obtained by referring to materials highlighted in the course properly referenced using citation style such as APA, MLA or Chicago..
